  Myself and my partner were in contact with Abdul for around a month before coming to Australia. We arrived in Perth to travel to manjimup the next day and he said he had reserved a room for us, upon arriving he pretended not to know who we were or what we were talking about. Without an apology. So after paying 60 dollars to get there each and a 2 hour trip we felt completely stitched up. We then had to fork out more money to get out of manjimup. I’m sure he will put some more fake reviews up to bump up the rating but this is an honest review from someone who has bad service. This sort of thing has apparently happened a lot and the guy has a bad rep. Cheers

  i love this place stayed here for 6 months a lot of amazing people and the manager is really nice and friendly with every one

  As this is the only hostel in the centre of Manjimup, myself & my partner thought we would stay here. However, after two months of emailing Abdul back & forth, a week before leaving for Perth, he told us he would reserve a double bed room for us under the instructions that we got back to him so ofcourse we did that in less than 5 minutes! We paid $60 each to travel from Perth to the hostel only to be told by him that there were none available! Trying to stay calm & rational, we asked him why he didn’t email us this earlier & we were told it was a first come first served basis and it wasn’t just us he was emailing. We repeatedly told him that he told us he would book the room FOR US, he gave us no apology only that his family comes first? After being shown around & told he only has a 6 bed available, we felt the hostel to have a negative atmosphere & had to try & find a different accommodation at the last minute. Straight after us, another couple came in who we are sure were told the same thing as us, a spy scheme to get backpackers in as they have nowhere else to go!

  The owner Abdul and his family are amazingly nice you really feel like home fast in this working hostel
